2025 Edition:
DigitalRehab presents AuReha at the 2025 National Conference of AIIC – Italian Association of Clinical Engineers
This year as well, DigitalRehab took part in the AIIC National Congress, held in Naples from June 14 to 17, 2025.
Our contribution was recognized through the selection of our research work, “Evaluation of the Accuracy of AuReha for Monitoring and Supporting Upper Limb Rehabilitation Therapies”, by the Scientific Committee for presentation as a poster within the AIIC Awards.
The project, the result of collaboration between DigitalRehab, RIDE2Med, and InsideAI, was presented within the thematic area “Experiences and Methodologies for Technology Evaluation.” The core focus is on precision rehabilitation, made possible by integrating wearable sensors, virtual reality, and advanced data analysis to personalize therapeutic pathways.
The AuReha system, a candidate medical device, underwent a series of preliminary tests prior to the clinical trials required for certification, with the aim of verifying its accuracy and reliability. The tests specifically assessed the measurement accuracy and repeatability, both essential to ensure its suitability for clinical use.
We reaffirm that participating in the Congress represents, for DigitalRehab, not only an important recognition of the scientific value of our work but also a valuable opportunity for exchange with the national community of clinical engineers engaged in driving technological innovation in healthcare.

2024 Edition:
DigitalRehab presents AuReha at the 2024 National Conference of AIIC – Italian Association of Clinical Engineers
From May 15 to 18, 2024, DigitalRehab took part in the 24th National Conference of AIIC – Italian Association of Clinical Engineers – held in Rome, a key event for discussions on innovative healthcare technologies and the evolution of the National Health Service. This year’s edition placed a strong focus on the challenges and opportunities in shaping a digital ecosystem as a strategic and interconnected system.
Within this context, DigitalRehab presented the project AuReha: DIGITAL THERAPY FOR NEUROMOTOR REHABILITATION, contributing to the thematic area focused on regulatory pathways for medical devices, with specific reference to the new MDR and IVDR regulations. The abstract was selected by the Scientific Committee as a finalist for the AIIC AWARDS 2024 (click here to access the full content).
The intervention highlighted the impact of neuromotor disorders, which affect over 4 million patients according to ISTAT, and the structural limitations of traditional rehabilitation services: limited resources, long waiting lists, high costs, and a lack of objective data to support therapeutic pathways. In response, AuReha is proposed as a solution that enables patients to perform interactive exercises at home with the support of a virtual coach, while providing therapists with functional data to efficiently monitor and personalize treatment plans. The development of the device follows the regulatory pathway in accordance with MDR 2017/745 to obtain CE marking as a Class IIA medical device and includes a two-phase clinical study: the first phase focuses on usability, safety, and monitoring support; the second aims to evaluate the therapeutic effectiveness of the system for the integration of AuReha into clinical practice as a Digital Therapeutic (DTx). With this approach, DigitalRehab aims to promote an innovative, sustainable, and inclusive rehabilitation model that enhances patient autonomy and improves the efficiency of the healthcare system.
